Evaluation task 2

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

This represents the social groups I was targeting because I was edging towards aiming for females for this magazine. They are a normal representation of young and sociable people. I wanted to keep the social "chatty" theme all the way through showing this in the editors note and the interview. I really wanted my magazine to appeal to the dubstep listeners and for them to feel like the magazine is really interacting with them. Their income wouldn't be much as they recieve money from their parents or get EMA. They would be happy students and the images used represent young people in a postive way as they are always smiling and they are not doing anything that harms society or causing trouble in the local area. The cover for "RWD" is bright and energetic just like the representation of young people and typical youth culture. This also portrays young people in a positive light by having bright and bold colours around them. As seen in the image of my group, the colours used are neutral but their positive attitude is shown through their body language.

Additionally, dubstep is mainly a male dominated  music genre so to have females on the front page of my magazine will be a different and new experience for readers. Having women in the magazine will also expand the audience as it is now appealing to females by having females on the cover. Which is what I wanted to do with my magazine, I wanted females to feel they could be a part of the dubstep genre.
